It is something we will never forget and I am so glad I was able to be part of it....and to see Moon dance is rare! It was so nice to see the Waimapuna hula brothers dance again....they still got 'um! And like I always say, no matter how many times I listen to Makaha Sons play, I still get chicken skin. Mahalo to Kekoa for allowing us to partake in such a great concert/ho'ike. In the meantime, take care and be safe in all your travels. Enjoy the holidays.

Aloha nui,
Kumu Mahiehie AranaOlivia/Māhiehie/Livshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11596756701218946723noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-575113030165296290.post-51603669450736336732008-11-09T10:32:00.000-08:002008-11-09T10:32:00.000-08:00Great blog! You see, I grew up in Baton Rouge, and used to live in Memphis; in fact, my children live there, now. Anyway, what I wanted to ask you was whether you actually made it from New Orleans to Memphis in six hours. As memory serves, that's a 450-mile drive. Am I wrong? If I'm right, would you tell me how many policemen you met along the way? And, if you met any, did they have the Aloha spirit? Mississippi's a pretty friendly place, but I'm not sure they quite achieve aloha. LOL. Be sure to tell us all about your trips to Japan and New England. Wish I could make the concert in Cleveland (It's closest), but at 950 miles as the crow flies, that's not going to happen. Alas! Maybe you can tour the Midwest soon??? Kansas City, Oklahoma City, Dallas...??? Otherwise, I'll just have to try and catch you on my next trip to O`ahu. In the meantime, I'll put on my CDs, practice my Hawai`ian, and wish you a heartfelt Mahalo! for all the pleasurable hours your music gives me.Virginia Tolleshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17434565854191924870noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-575113030165296290.post-991689394579929662008-08-06T08:57:00.000-07:002008-08-06T08:57:00.000-07:00I didn't discover your blog until after the po...I didn't discover your blog until after the poll was closed for next summer's shows, but my mom and I would each like to register a vote for St. Louis. We went to Disney studios on the first day and it was alright. we didnt ride much because the lines were waaay tooo long. Areosmith was the bomb. Kelly and i was going to see the stunt show when the sky got dark and the lighting and thunder scared the S#%t out of me. It was right overhead.
i ended up buying ponchos(dont ask how much)for the 6 of us(me,kelly, john, jerry, aunty londa, and Kealo).

Universal was awesome. we went to the islands of adventure. That was super fun. i bought express passes for us(me,kelly,Pua,Misty, Shar, kealo, pai was too small). The express pass got us to the front of the lines..can you say CheeeHooooo. we rode all kinds of stuff taking turns whos watching pai while mom and dad ride.

We stayed away from the water rides becasue we didnt want to get wet.....can you say "bachi.....bad luck".
We was waiting in line to ride dualing dragons and the sky got dark again....and the thunder and lighting over head scareded me again. this time no ponchos so we ended up getting SOAKED to the bone getting back to the car. Misty was the smart one and brought 2 umbrellas for her, baby and daddy.

Next time we know.

Thanks You very much to the people who made these little excursions possible for us. It was super fabulous.

The Shows was awesome.....the food from the Halau that welcomed us to there home was Superr delish....."Hollla".....and Thank You to Marina and the Ohana, Uncle Pat and his Ohana, Dave and his crew for making my Orlando Shows so easy and awesome and everybody else with too many name to mentions who made this show Super Fabulous.

Mahalo to the Uncles( Moon,John, Jerome),Aunty Londa, Kealo, Barry Kimokeo, And last but not least Sharlene for inviting my wife on tour with me so we wasnt apart for our first wedding anniversary and making this trip awesome.

Next stop......East Coast!
see you laterPrince GPShttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06033975396141674706noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-575113030165296290.post-43840468316401647942008-07-18T19:26:00.000-07:002008-07-18T19:26:00.000-07:00Mahalo for coming to Nashville and the Tennessee P...Mahalo for coming to Nashville and the Tennessee Performing Arts Center. I didn't realize you had been here before. But since you said you hope to be back next year, I am going to count on it and will be there! We thoroughly enjoyed the show---in fact, I enjoyed it so much that the time just flew by. When you finished up, I thought we'd only been there about 45 minutes and was very surprised to see 2 hours had gone by. I have signed up for your newsletter to keep track of your performances.

Also, I was very happy today to see the video of Kealo performing at Miss Aloha Hula a couple of years ago. I kept telling my friend who attended the concert with me "Kealo is such a wonderful dancer, so graceful, so beautiful". Now I know why!

John, exactly what was the bass you were playing? It does look a little bit like a Kona Walking Stick. I just couldn't see it well enough and forgot to ask about it in the lobby afterward.

One more wish: as much as I like going to TPAC, I would love to hear the sounds of your wonderful voices and music in Nashville's Schermerhorn Symphony Center. It just opened about 2 years ago and is one of the most beautiful venues in Nashville. Think about it, okay.

Much love and aloha to you all. Have a very safe journey on your trip and back home.LaRosehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09932645613652922697noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-575113030165296290.post-39653585319573045942008-07-16T21:12:00.000-07:002008-07-16T21:12:00.000-07:00Aloha! We still cant believe the Makaha Sons came to the Big Easy! We laughed all the way home, in between phone calls to mom and the other brothers that weren't able to be there. We'll try to have the rest of the Weaver Ohana here for the next show. One year right? We were glad we met the other 5 Hawaiians in New Orleans, haha! We will keep in touch, we will never forget the night New Orleans had their 1st taste of the Makaha Sons and the Aloha spirit.
Barry and Keola we thought you two were awesome!
